ADA COUNTY WOOD WORKERS NEWSLETTER
March 11, 2009
Meeting called to order by President John Pickrell at 7:00 pm.
Treasurer Bob Middleton reported a balance of $354.55.
Dues are payable now, $15.00.
It was moved and seconded that ACWW will take part of the Artistry in Wood show at the Browns Gallery the first weekend of May. The motion carried so we will be in the show.
Jack Kiefer reported that the Grandmother clock we were given is worn out and has missing parts. The proposed sale is cancelled.
Steve Hammond, and instructor in construction and cabinet making at Nampa School district presented an overview of their project. They can get college credit for the work. They have financed their program by building and selling a house. In a cabinet making competition, winners from Idaho will go to the National competition in Kansas City.
John Lee won the drawing.
John Pickrell showed some boxes.
Scott told about some new items in Woodcraft store:
Some dust collection parts, gates and flexible tube
Wood River Plane
Porter Cable Drill
Steel City Planer
An HVLP Sprayer
Dust collection was the program topic.
John Lee gave the health consequences of dust.
Bill Yearous, Bob Middleton and Steve Young described their systems of dust collection.
The next meeting will be on April 8, 2009 at 7:00 PM.
The program will be on hinges.
