September 9, 2009 Meeting

ADA COUNTY WOOD WORKERS NEWSLETTER

About 25 Ada County Wood Workers met at Woodcraft with President John Pickrell calling the meeting to order at 7:pm.

Treasurer Bob Middleton reported a balance of $416.83.

Guests or new attendees were Bob Ancin and John Olden, both of Boise. They subsequently joined the club by paying the dues, of $5.00 for the rest of the year.

John Pickrell noted the Kuna show the first weekend in August. This is a quilt show that woodworkers have taken part in with demonstrations for several years. Demonstrations included turning, scroll saw, wood finishing, the Stop Saw, and band saw.

Artistry in Wood show will be much expanded next year in a new venue with much more space. Projects will also be judged by an independent panel. A wood worker is needed to represent the club in the organizing and running of the show. A willing volunteer should contact John Pickrell.

A reminder:  Start thinking about the annual contest and show in November.

The Christmas party in conjunction with the wood turners will be in December.
