…INTO A MUSHROOM!
THE NUMBERS ARE IN!
The Boise Woodcraft store and Woodturner’s Club won the distinct honor of making the most Pens For The Troops! We presented 1,253 pens this year! The second place store was from San Carlos, CA, with 1,177. Way to go gang! Special thanks to Monte for providing pen kits and lunch and Steve Young for his coordination of the event.
The January Challenge was a turned pen.
In the Pro Category, Jon Gurnett (our photographer) won first place with his Lace Oak with linen and captured ring pen. (far right)
The middle pen, by 18 year old Luis Torres, took the top prize in the Amateur category. This is only the third pen Luis has turned. Watch out folks, there is great talent among us!
In the next issue of The Woodturner’s newsletter.
