(1982)
The second UK release from Richard Bone -- a
founder member of New York’s growing
electronic music scene. He began by writing
music for various off Broadway Theater
productions. Using tape recorders and home
made processors, his musical backdrops were
used by the New York Conservatory in several
of their plays and videos.
At the same time he was recording with various
New York musicians including Lenny Kaye and he
released his first American single in 1979.
His next releases were two abstract works
‘Life in Video City’ and ‘Quiz Party’ both
released on cassette by Los Angeles’ art
magazine ‘Eurock’; these were followed by the
LP ‘Emerging Melodies’.
Next he recorded a single ‘Digital Days/Alien
Girl’ which was released in America as a
limited pressing on his own Rumble Records.
This was then released in the UK by Survival
in April this year, and received a good
response from the critics.
Richard has just completed work on a video
album which has been transmitted on American
cable TV and he has been commissioned to write
a film soundtrack. He is also concentrating on
presenting a special show at various venues in
New York - working in the area loosely defined
as ‘performance art’.
