Sonic Immersion - A Review by Bert Strolenberg
THE ETERNAL NOW
RICHARD BONE
Richard Bone’s fully instrumental album "The Eternal Now" is divided in two parts: "Zone" and "The Millennium Pages".
The musical approach is rather industrial/ambient, and I wouldn’t call the music "warm" either.
Especially the experimental passages in the first part were getting on my nerves as they kept on going, although there are a few starts noticeable to something better.
Things shift to an overall introspective, more accessible kind of music in the second part, also due to the use of some nice vocoder-voices.
Nevertheless, this is a rather strange album journeying into the mystic, which will only appeal to die-heart ambient fans looking for something more adventurous.
